Pet Expo

Last year didn’t get to bring Oscar to Pet Expo cause we were overseas, but this year we went. 

There are many stalls and were quite crowded even we went on Friday afternoon. 

Hubby and I managed to buy some bibs from Momoji Pets, some Fuzzyard toys and goat milk from Korea. Didn’t get to buy any treats or food for Oscar though. 

This is one of the biggest pet event and it’s on 25th April (Friday), 26th April (Saturday) and 27th April (Sunday), 10 am to 8 pm. You need buy tickets to enter. The ticket price is SGD5 per pax for one day or SGD12 per pax for three days if you purchase online.

It’s once a year kinda of thing so if you have the time, can consider go with your furkid. 

Pet-friendly Restaurant to have Dim Sum

During Easter day, hubby and I decided to bring Oscar out to try out a dim sum place nearby Orchard area.

It's Black Society. Their dim sum selections are quite a lot. Their dim sum price is at the high end but the shop offered 30% discount for all dim sum if you dine in during 2.30pm to 5pm, from Monday to Saturday, except Sunday and public holiday. I ordered a few dim sum as shown below.

I also ordered their Signature King Har Kao but didn't manage to take a nice photo of it. Overall, their dim sum are fresh and yummy. As for drinks, you can choose from various types of drinks. Hubby and I chose chrysanthemum tea which comes in a medium size kettle. 

The al fresco area although is not air-conditioned but it's quite comfortable and not stuffy. Out of the five dim sum I tried, I like the Famous Chili Crab Tarts the most as it's quite special and the sauce is flavorful. 

Lastly, I would recommend this dim sum place to anyone who wants to bring their furry kids along while getting to enjoy nice dim sum. Took the below photo to show you the al fresco area which is pet-friendly. 

Seaside and cycling

Oscar went to East Coast Park. Hubby and I rented a bike which can accommodate Oscar as well. It’s SGD 40 for 2 hours ride.

Oscar was a bit nervous at first but after riding for a few minutes he got used to it. I also put Oscar on the front bike which had a seat and Oscar enjoyed viewing the seaside and people around. 

The rental price of the bike I mentioned is for weekday. It’s quite a big bike and my hubby and I got tired after riding for a while. We stopped by a few times to buy drinks and viewed the seaside. It’s quite a good experience. If your furkid is small size and you wanna bring him to experience different things, can consider this option. 

Pet-friendly restaurant

Found another hangout place with our furkid, Oscar. It’s Prive at Keppel Bay. The al fresco area is pet-friendly. This is the first Prive branch we went. 

You can make reservation online and choose the al fresco area if you plan to go with your furkid. 

Our table faced the cruises view. So, we had great view while having our lunch. 

             

I ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict and my hubby ordered the Nasi Goreng. Both dishes were okay. The place offered happy hours 40% discount for their wines and mocktails. So, we ordered. 

The place also provides free parking during lunch hours. You may check out at their website for more details. After the lunch, hubby and I brought Oscar to see the nearby cruises. 

 

Pet boarding and barkday celebration

Oscar celebrated his friend birthday at Wagging Tail and Playful Paws. They gather and took photos together. Oscar was very happy. After took photos, each dog will have some portion of the cake. 

Wagging Tail and Playful Paws is a place to consider for furkid birthday cause it’s spacious. They will decorate the place, dressing up your furkid and also ready a barkday cake for your furkid. 

Wagging Tail and Playful Paws is also a place to consider for boarding your furkid. They have spacious place for your furkid to socialise with other dogs, a swimming pool for your furkid to swim and at night have a room for your furkid to sleep. 

Pet-friendly cruise and pet cakes

Hubby and I celebrated Oscar 3 years old birthday on the luxury Tall Ship, the Royal Abatross breakfast cruise which is pet-friendly.  

I chose breakfast cruise (dog-friendly) cause it's much easier to take nice photos in the morning and the price is more affordable. 

When I liaised with one of their staff, Devi during the booking process, he was very friendly and responsive via WhatsApp. Another staff whom we met on the cruise was also very friendly. Her name is Sylvia. She helped us to take many photos and videos without us asking. If you wish to book the breakfast cruise, you may quote OSCAR15 to get the 15% discount. They do have Barkday Package (the package consists of breakfast buffet for two person, 3 course meals for one dog and a pupcake) which you can opt for it but I decided to bring my own birthday cakes for Oscar. 

The seats are based on first come first serve basis. However, you can top-up SGD150+ for the bow seats which you can reserved the seats. 

                        

You can choose to do the registration for the cruise online so that when you reach there you just need to present your IC (for locals) and passport (for foreigners) for checking.

Once you are seated you may proceed to order your drinks and go to the bottom of the cruise for the breakfast buffet. The menu of the breakfast buffet will be sent to you in advance (via email) before the cruising day. 

        

             

          

   

There is also an air-con area at the bottom of the cruise for you to explore. There are some food and fruits to eat. 

 

The 3 course gourmet meals for your furkid are like fine dining experience. Below are some photos for reference. 

Since it was for Oscar birthday, of course will have birthday cakes. I ordered the birthday cakes from US Dog Bakery Pte. Ltd. They have two branches, one at Nex and another at Vivocity. The shops are located inside Pet Safari. The person I liaised with is the baker himself. He is very patient and will customise the cakes according to your preference. 

Oscar had two cakes. One is ready-made (which you could buy off the shelf) and another is custom-made. Both were very nice cakes. The prices were reasonable and affordable too. Currently, about SGD 30-SGD 40, you can have a cake customised for your furkid. 

Oscar was very happy taking photos with the cakes. 

Lastly, I would like to thank the Tall Ship, the Royal Abatross staff for helping me to take nice photos and videos so that I could share information with you all.

Pet food

It was Oscar birthday. I first time tried to bake cheese pork meatballs for him. It is quite an easy recipe. 

Oscar likes to eat pork and cheese. So I tried out this recipe. 

Ingredients

1 pound pork minced meat

1 egg 

1/2 cup cheese 

30g flour (can add more if you find it hard to form the meatballs)

Some vegetables like carrots (if your furkid likes to eat vegetables)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 220 degrees or slightly lower also can for 5-8 minutes

2. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together. 

3. Now everything should stick together.

4. Form your meatballs.

5. Place your meatballs on your baking sheets.

6. Bake your meatballs in the oven using 180 degrees for 15- 20 minutes (the duration depending on how big are your meatballs).

7. And that's it. It's done and ready for your furkid to eat. Remember to let it cool down and not hot before giving your furkid to eat. 

     

                                             

            

Oscar is a food picker but he loves it and ate very fast. I didn't make a lot as Oscar is not a big eater. But the recipe above is for more meatballs. You can adjust accordingly.
